One of Those Mornings

6:00 AM: Wake up with a small headache.
6:30 AM: Get out of the shower, put right contact into left eye and vice versa.
6:55 AM: Leave the apartment. Realize that contacts are in wrong eyes.
7:00 AM: Commiserate with coffee shop owner, whose upstairs neighbors intentionally shut off her power at the circuit breaker (to which she does not have access), because they want the space for their friends to open a bagel shop.
7:05 AM: Go to backup coffee shop down the street. While waiting for bagel, watch N-Judah turn around without taking the customary break. Go outside and stand in the cold while waiting for the next train.
7:15 AM: Get on train. Eat bagel, drink coffee, read Titus Groan.
7:50 AM: Train stops outside Church & Duboce tunnel due to electrical failure at Duboce junction. No trains entering tunnel. Headache has now blossomed into grinding agony. Walk the rest of the way to work.
8:10 AM: Arrive at work. Boot up computer. Switch contacts into correct eyes. Take "fast-acting" pain reliever. Whine about morning to coworkers and blog.
