Some people don't care about cars, and they'll just pass by without a glance. But car lovers - and there will suddenly be more of these in your vicinity than you had any idea existed - and the just plain curious will ogle your car, ask you questions about the make and model, how it is to drive, what kind of fuel you use, etc. etc. All while leaning over it, peering in through the windows, maybe even getting their greasy fingers on the finish. Little kids are the worst, and their parents of course do little to rein them in. As if the only reason you might have for driving this car is to exhibit it to others, when if you had a choice you'd keep it locked up in the garage under a tarp. Even when you're at home, if anyone comes over, they always want to take a look at the car and ooh and aah over it. Some will even have the audacity to ask for a ride in it or - if they're good friends or family - if they can take it for a spin.
This it what it feels like to take a baby out in public.

...Unless you're a single dad, in which case, a baby in public is a chick magnet. :P
Some people feel that way about their cars, too.
