Adventures

It's been a long time since I blogged.

The E-i-C has ordered a Mini Cooper S. Dark silver, hardtop, no moon/sunroof. If I sit in the front seat, whoever sits in back of me had best be a double amputee. It will not arrive until Novemberish.

In the meantime, that slow coolant leak in the E-i-C's old Golf turned into a fast coolant leak. Or shall we say, coolant spurt. Naturally, this occurred while I was driving it. With the Spawn in the back seat. Car overheated. Smoke pouring out from under the hood, etc. Took Muni the rest of the way home.

So, we have inadvertently, unwillingly, temporarily become a single-car household. Now, our regular schedule is that the E-i-C drops the Spawn off at the Russian Mafia Daycare in the morning, sometime past 8 am on her way to work, and I leave work at 4:30 pm, take Muni home, get my car, and pick up the Spawn shortly before 6 pm, while the E-i-C slaves away until 9ish at her office in the great white north. Except now we have only the one car. Yesterday was no problem; I had already RTO'd til 9 am at work, since the E-i-C was hosting the Reykyavik Summit at work beginning at Early AM. So I just drove my own car to both Pikov Andropov, as Click & Clack might say.

Today, however, the E-i-C had to return to the great white north, so she took the remaining car. I took Muni to work. And me being carless, the E-i-C was tasked with both the dropping off and the picking up of the Spawn. And I am not only carless but taskless, especially tonight being Game Night. So presently I am sitting in Cafe International in the lower Haight, enjoying my third (and far from last) beer and blogging.

So much work stuff to talk about, but I don't blog about work.

Instead, I will leave you with this. I know there are ladies out there who purchased for your gentlemen a classic Brooks Brothers Fun Pant. And you are wondering, "But what's in it for me? The Fun Pant doesn't come in ladies' sizes." I have the answer for you, but to find it, you'll have to seek out the printed Neiman Marcus catalog (known in such circles as receive them in the post as, The Book). In it you will find an exquisite, yet fanciful and, yes, fun, coat by alleged fashion designer Robert Cavalli. This coat is in technicolor, much like the amazing dreamcoat, and furthermore, and most importantly, is trimmed with hamster fur. Yes. Hamster. From Italy.
