Tonight the E-i-C and I opened a bottle of Perrier-Jouet that has been in the bottle since before W was elected. The E-i-C is elated, and keeps going on about how proud "you Americans" should be for electing our first black president. Much of this is due to the effects of the champagne, but she is also talking about applying for citizenship next year - so she can vote for Obama's re-election (assuming he does a good job in the first four years) in 2012.
In more sobering news, California's state proposition h8 seems to be passing. I am shocked and very, very disappointed. Maybe this video will help explain why.
